Faulkner, it's great that we've been reunited at last. He was one of my great favorites during high school. This novel was one that I had foolishly decided to "save" for the future. This novel is impossible to sum up or review. It is an unceasing torrent of genius prose. It's a great work of peak modernism. And like all the best works of modernism, the reader is left exhausted at the end. And you know Faulkner is a great writer when a novel such as this is the weakest of those you have read. Go Down, Moses , The Sound and the Fury and most off all, As I Lay Dying , tower above Absalom, Absalom! .
