Not realizing that "mental health" is a sub-genre of graphic novel, I stumbled onto "The Hospital Suite" and read it in a single sitting within the course of 90 minutes. Powerful and memorable if not totally satisfying. I immediately ordered another book by this author. I don't really want to know him personally (he seems like quite a head-case) but I'm interested in knowing him through his work. Though he seems to have more than his share of neuroses and illnesses, there was a universality in the story to which I responded. I enjoyed about 85% of this book and, because of the simplicity of the art, it makes me interested in trying to craft my own graphic novel. It is, after all, all about the power of the story.
