A gorgeous coffee-table introduction to surrealist sculpture. Not being a scholar of such matters i can't definitely critique it, but it seems complete, perhaps even over-complete [Alexander Calder was a surrealist? Really? Great stuff but abstract, not surrealist].
I hadn't known the extent of H. Arp's biomorphism influence on surrealism, so that discussion was a big plus.
And i hadn't fully appreciated the sexual obsessiveness of male surrealists [tiresome, that].
If you have any interest in surrealism, or even its tangents, this is a worthy, even pleasurable read.
