Interesting memoir on a honest cop drafted into a despised job that could have been a career ender. Head of Internal Affairs bureau. He helped fostered a new workplace culture to weed out the rogues outs by drafting the best for 2 years giving them references to preferred division & eyeopening perspective on tailing a crooked job much harder than a criminal to make a better detective. Chuckled at undercover Integrity tests on police officers nabbed some clueless organized criminals instead. Interesting tales about crooked cops that took bribes, got too chummy with their informants, excessive force on suspect, police shooting, ticket fixing scandal to people who impersonated NYPD cops.
