I was wowed by Tim Lebbon and Into the Void. It was a perfect balance of world building and story telling. Great prose mixed with a real feel for pushing the story breathlessly forward. Although the plot is modest, it encompass everything I'm looking for but haven't found recently in Star Wars novels. Great character exposition, great plotting and action. I was left flat with Scourge, I thought The Last Jedi was all over the place, Mercy Kill was joyless, and Annihilation was terrible. And don't get me started on the Fate of the Jedi novels. This book was different. It was compelling and revealing. Emotional and honest. I look forward to more stuff by Lebbon. I just wish Del Rey had enlisted him much earlier.
