"A vivid, scientifically based forecast of our planet in forty years, distilling cutting-edge research into these world-changing forces: *demographic trends; *natural resource demand; *climate change; *globalization. The world's population is exploding, wild species are vanishing, our environment is degrading, and the cost of resources from oil to water are going nowhere but up. What kind of world are we leaving for our children and grandchildren? The news is both alarmingly bad and surprisingly good." I found this to be a very interesting book, with both optimistic and pessimistic forecasts for the future. If even some of what he suggests actually happens, then we really need to do more work on our individual impact on the environment and the world in general. This is not a quick read, but definitely worth taking the time to get through. I would recommend this to everyone.
