It's easy to get lost in the names of all of the 14,000 ft mountains that the author climbs in Colorado, and you probably have to be a climber or Coloradan to keep track. The appeal of the book is in the history of the State and various characters that the author meets in his climbing quest. The climbing is tamer than Everest or K2, certainly less mortality and the book may appeal more to the hiking/back to nature crowd. I liked it, primarily for the history of the Colorado 14K mountains.
