When we went to Disney Land a few years ago, my brother and I were each given a certain amount of money for souvenirs. I found this book as we were about to leave, and since nothing else had caught my attention I picked this as a souvenir. The first couple of times I read it, it was pretty good. It is really well written, and it's great to the the behind-the-scenes to why the stepmother was so obsessed with beauty, and where the mirror came from. However, I eventually realized that portions of it are quite disturbing. The Queen is haunted (literally!) by the mirror who features the face of her abusive father. It drives her insane (literally) until all she can think about is cutting Snow White's heart out. She even begins to sleepwalk out to the woods to dig into the ground with her fingernails after banning the mirror there. It terrifies her, but she needs it. I personally find that disturbing, and I got rid of the book. I totally agree that it's good, but too humanely off to read.
