Kick-ass school out to get vengeance in a wild ride across the west of the 1890s? why yes, I'll have a helping of that!

One of my favorite characters of all time - Caprice is a school teacher who brings her own brand of law to the west when her brother is murdered and the culprit is on the run. Elements of adventure, spaghetti western and humor make for a great read, not to mention that Bowering, a poet, puts his language skills to good use here. A hidden gem!

Thoroughly enjoyable. Wonderful to read a book set in an area I know well. Very different from any other western I have read. Highly recommended.
