Like Patricia, I often feel like an outsider trying to fit in but not really understanding how to do so. She reminds me of how it's sometimes important to take a step back and watch what has gone on in the past to shape what is happening today.

I love the fact that Patricia also takes the time to learn about her mother's history. I think it helps bring them closer together as mother and daughter.

Pearson manages to take a summer cottage story, add time travel to it, and come out with boring. It’s not hard to see why Patricia has no friends, because it’s hard enough just reading about her. The concept is the only thing that’s special about this book: the prose, the plot and the characters are all as dreary as too many rainy days.

"Always try to be in a group even if you don't feel like you don't belong in a group." - when Patricia moved in and lived her cousins she doesn't feel like that they including her and her cousin Kelly is always teasing her.
