This is a great series of books, and I recommend them all. The stories are things kids can relate to (in this case, getting told repeatedly to clean your room but getting distracted). The meter makes them a delight to read, and the rhymes are good. The art work is lovely (you can, however, tell that this was the first book in the series if you've read the later books; the author has definitely matured as an artist) and the characters are appealing. My boys love these books so they're not just for girls.

Jillian makes a mess in her room every day, just like me. My favourite part was when Jillian's mom faints. My favourite character was Jillian.
