This book is awesome. I am a fan of submarines, and an adult, and this book exceeded my expectations. This book is not just for kids. If you are a fan of any era of subs, WWII or current, I would highly highly recommend this book to learn about the different types and inner workings. Yes, it focuses on WWII subs, but it does so by explaining how subs work, but also things like torpedoes, how to get them onboard, what was life like on a sub, how did they build them, etc. Great illustrations with 'cutaways', where they show the cross sections or inner layers. I also think the info was the right amount for someone learning, who isn't an expert. Anyone from children to adult would enjoy this book. It's just really well done and a fun read. Because of it, I'm looking to check out other books in the "Inside Story" series because the topic was so well done. I may even buy this for my collection.
