Contemporary novel of New Orleans and its people centring on the bizarre adventures of Ignatius Reilly. It is a funny, farcical and ribald book, and Reilly is at once a repelling, entertaining and sympathetic character.

Made it to page 125 and gave up. I just can't maintain any interest in the loutish, know-it-all main character & I find the social concepts dated and offensive.
