The Hassani family (mom, dad, 2 girls) must flee Afghanistan because the Taliban has put a fatwa on father. Both father and mother are filmmakers. It is 2015 and the main actor in Hassani's latest film has been executed. Their escape has to happen as fast as possible, they have no time to waste. First they go by their car to Tajikistan, where they stay for a short time. Next stop Iran which is not safe.

They must get to an EU country. They must get asylum. A smuggler takes their money and doesn't deliver and they get to Turkey by foot. From Turkey to Bulgaria where they are housed in a refugee camp. Bulgarian boys in gangs are preying on immigrants and the mother and oldest girl attacked; the police do nothing.

They make it to Serbia and stay in a camp for quite a long time. Then to Croatia. They wait in Croatia for about 2 years waiting for their number to come up for transit to Hungary. In Hungary they live in a transit zone for 3 months and then they are allowed to come into the country legally. They receive asylum.

This movie was filmed on 3 cell phones and in the special features it is explained how the film is downloaded to computers and saved.

What would you do in similar circumstances? Multiply this by Mexico, Guatemala, Syria and so on. What would you do?

p.s. I just saw this today in one of the papers I read. A Syrian man, his wife, a 4 year old boy and a 5-week old baby -- 5 weeks old. Must get to safety.
