Packs a lot into such a short book, and hits that sweet spot where it's satisfying as it is, but sequels wouldn't feel tacked on.

I like alt-history stuff and I love strong female characters so I should have loved this book more. It was an interesting world and I liked the characters, but the pacing was off and it ended abruptly, to me. I certainly won't warn anyone off it, but will suggest it with a warning that the pace might be a little disorienting.

This should have been a much longer novel for the amount of action packed into this novella. Such a fantastic alternate history set in New Orleans - I hope more comes from this universe!

In this steampunk alternate history set in New Orleans, a young street girl inhabited by a goddess of storms works with a fellow god-touched airship pilot to prevent the use of a dangerous weapon that could wipe out the entire city of New Orleans. A fun, fast-paced fantasy novella that fans of Dread Nation by Justina Ireland or Orleans by Sherri L. Smith will love.

Riveting novella that takes place in an alternate history New Orleans with powerful, complex women of color as protagonists. Irreverent, fast-paced, magical.
