Not as good as her earlier books. I enjoyed the high jinks he and his wife used to get into. But now both he and his wife are too old to investigate together. He does go out on his own with a different stranger in each book. But there is not the history of knowing the characters, knowing where they have been, and where they are headed.

Very nice story taking place in ancient Roman Britain. Good characters and plot. And I've already reserved other works by this author.
