I enjoyed this movie. Taraji P Henson is one excellent actress. This movie was excellent it had a lot of action and drama in it.

I LOVE Taraji P Henson but this movie could have been better. It has a great group of actors but the story felt very rushed and it skipped the important character backgrounds that would normally draw you into a movie. Good female fight scenes and AWESOME music.

It was fine, not great. We enjoyed the action and story line was okay.

Glad I did not see it in the theater. It was ok. I got lost due to falling asleep. I liked when Mary and Danny was in scenes but it was very blah I know they usually hype up the movie but in the previews it was only the action part. The actors all did well in their pars though.

Have you ever watched a movie and half way through said "there has got to be a sequel!" Then 3/4 of the way through said "I need to look for the sequel!" and the moment you finish watching you go to the computer to see if a sequel is in the works? This is THAT movie.
Originally billed as a "Black film" (I guess because some people only like white actors) this has nothing to do with race--at all. This is a very violent "hero's journey" where the hero is a woman (another reason for some bad reviews because, well, you know). Non-stop action, super-human feats of impossible shots, dodging bullets, and crashing cars.
Mary is a professional hitman who almost kills a child. When she spares him, her whole life begins to unravel. Great writing, brilliant stunts, good acting, wonderful special effects that I suspect are not all CGI.
A must watch even for people who are not fans of violence--there is a touching story buried under the violence.

Story line was undeveloped and the movie lacked the kind of punch it should have had. Taraji made the movie and delivered in her character. Worth a watch.

The movie focused too much on the personal/emotional than with the violence. What kind of hit woman has a heart?! Disappointing but the last scene is worth it.

Movie was about what I expected. Tajiri has played a hit (wo)man before in Smokin' Aces (2006) so its pretty familiar territory. She carries the movie well with her acting chops and personality.

Very similar to Leon: The Professional (1994), Jackie Brown (1997), et al.

Recommended if you like:
- 70's blaxploitation films,
- Tarantino films.

Not recommended for:
- "touchy-feely" people
- families that don't curse
- judgmental people.

Disappointing action drama with a transparent script and poor stunts, very little to cheer for as a female assassin-with-a-heart story. The only attraction is the view of downtown Boston skyline from LoPresti Park, East Boston.

Movie should be rated R lots of killing and bad language. Intercity street people, drugs and violence. Not suitable for children or people that are violent by nature.

The best quotes are lyrics to the songs in the film. Even the set up and delivery for this line was monotonous:

News flash, axxhole: I am the mothering type!
