I much preferred Carve the Mark over The Fates Divide. This was a much slower read and didn't have the same "oomph" to it CTM did. While it does wrap up nicely and presents new character perspectives, it felt boring by comparison. I guessed the big plot twist a few chapters into the book which made the reveal anticlimactic since I had already figured it out. Going into this book I had really high expectations and felt a little let down with the book.
While not exactly a "bad" book, it took me a while to finish, (and I'm a fairly fast reader) and it just didn't hold the same appeal as the last one.

I love this author, and she almost never disappoints her audience! (only twice for me personally). Jumping back into this series was a bit of a shock at first, with all the terminology and names. It is a completely different universe, which is actually quite refreshing once you understand it. The plot gets more interesting as it continues on, and I would definitely recommend sticking with it. (The plot twist(s) was awesome, I sort of alluded to it before but only by chance). Personally I found the first book better written, but this is still good!!

A satisfying end to the duology, but it didn't read as quickly as her Divergent series. I definitely didn't anticipate the big twist about Akos and Cyra's fates. I preferred their storylines to the one with Cisi, but her ability was an interesting one. The galactic politics dragged a little. Eijeh's perspective added a unique touch.
