This story illustrates the beautiful response of a girl to the plight of her neighbor. While our efforts may not produce immediate results, the good we've done over our lifetime will hopefully be abundant.
This gentle story about a resourceful and capable young girl is actually an ode to trees. This books celebrates the beauty and wonder of trees, but also how useful, important and valuable they are in so many different ways. What does the world need more of? Trees. The pictures are charming and children can enjoy the simply told and accessible story.
Love this story about two eccentrics, one a man determined to stay in his creaky house on the tip top of a steep hill, and one a compassionate, determined young lady who knows how to solve a seemingly unsolvable problem! Loved the illustrations! Nice eco-message, too!
Nice, although odd, story. Good resources and info in back of book.
Perfect for Earth Day and Arbor Day, this is a sweet and gentle story of kindness and the importance of care-taking -- both of our planet and of each other!
A great story celebrating trees and their importance in our world. This would be a fun story to share for Earth Day and Arbor Day events as well. I liked the fun play with words at the beginning --- almost as if the wind was blowing the words around too!
