The novel Time Bomb by Joelle Charbonneau is a page-turning thriller that pulls the reader in like a magnet. In the novel, six students ---- Diana, Frankie, Tad, Cas, Z, and Rashid ---- each with their own troubles were trapped inside a school that has been wrecked by a bomb. Bad news? There are more bombs inside, ready to go off. To make matters worse, the students hear on the radio that one of them is the correspondent of the bomber. The six students must decide to either work together regardless of the shocking fact, or turn on one another and punish the culprit. As mentioned above, I find the novel quite a page-turner. In fact, I finished the novel in one sitting, even though I knew I should get to some other work that is getting piled up as I read. What strikes me the most is how much the students’ troubles connected to many current issues on our social media. Racism, rejection, depression, etc. The list goes on and on. What is the most special about this book is just how reasonable it seemed when the culprit was revealed, yet there was no way I could have guessed who the correspondent was if Charbonneau never reveals the answer. For readers, I would suggest you guys take a read at this, regardless of what your favorite genres are, because I guarantee that everyone and anyone who reads this will have something to connect to it.

I found this book is be very interesting introducing a standard cast of characters from the very start. I liked the differences in personality and uniqueness between all the characters: Diana a perfect rich daughter of a high ranking office father who desires to be anything but a pawn in his entire campaigning game to success. Cas is a strange shy and introverted girl who is the opposite of Diana and prefers to spend her time playing music. They're also joined a cast of male characters such as Z and Rashiv. They all have secrets of their own but come together another one highs school- a crumbling one that is when suddenly a bomb goes off in their school and they're all trapped inside. One of them is targeted as the suspect who planting the time bomb and only more will go off as they try to find out who it is. A thrilling plot with multiple switching perspectives leaves you wondering who it is. And page by page, their dark secrets start to come out.

Overall the writing in this book was decent and I personally really liked the small details the author put in about the characters' personalities. Overall I rate this book a 7.5/10.
