The story of Dion and Gobi is inspirational on various levels. Not only is Dion a relentless racer who runs in incredibly challenging environments, but he is equally single-minded when it comes to giving Gobi a loving home. It's a wonderful story about love and determination, I certainly recommend this book to animal lovers of all kinds.

What a great and touching story about how a small stray dog named Gobi crosses the path of a runner who was completing a 155-mile race across China's Gobi Desert. It was sweet to learn more about their story and how they share a very special bond. I'm amazed of how the dog was able to keep up with him for 50+ miles during that race in extreme temperatures. It was meant to be.

As both a runner and an animal lover this book was one of my favorites of the year. I found the insight in to ultra-marathons very interesting. The bond that Leonard and Gobi formed is very heartwarming. Sad to finish the book as I wanted to read more about Gobi and Leonard.

Love Gobi!!! What an impressive story!
The book was well written and I couldn't put it down. Gobi is one very, very lucky dog. As a hardcore dog lover, I am not at all surprised by what Dion went through to get her home to Scotland. He had so much help and kindness and all for a plucky little stray dog. What a sweetheart! As a runner, I learned a lot about ultra races and as a dog lover - Loved this story and hope it does make it to the big screen as is the plan.

I also heard the author on CBC Radio. But this is one story that should have ended as a blog post. Terrible writing. Self promotional. Waste of time.

I heard this story last year as it was happening and as soon as I found out there was a book, I had to read it.
I couldn't stop reading and loved every minute of it.
It's a great story about mans best friend and healing the past.
Dion is an inspiration to us all and I'm so happy he and Gobi are together forever.
Highly recommend, it's a good read and gives you more details on the journey to get Gobi to the Uk.

Listened to Leonard on CBC Radio, speak of his relationship with Gobi and was compelled to place a hold on his book. It's a true "love story" and we can't wait to read about their exploits.
