Provides helpful historical background on Ukrainian nationalism and its connection to Nazi Germany during World War Two. Identifies Pravy Sektor as the vanguard shock troops who initiated the February coup. Places Victoria Nuland, Asst Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, and Geoffrey Pyatt, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, smack dab in the middle of the coup, caught on tape actually naming the next prime minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk -- "Yats is the guy!" The fundamental question one must ask oneself is, "If it is permissible for Western Ukraine to rebel, why isn't it permissible for Crimea to rebel or Donetsk or Luhansk?" If you can't answer that question then the last four years of Russophobia must be viewed with great suspicion.

The Ukraine crisis is a complex political phenomena. It would have been better if the editing had a narrative that sketched out all the players, motivations and actions. All is not as it seems to the casual observer. Hence, it would help to lay out the play at the beginning.

Without this clarification, the film tends to devolve into a confusing work. To appreciate what the documentary offers, it is left to the viewer to put this together.

This is worth viewing at least twice.

Alternative view of the events in Ukraine in 2014. Without lies and omissions of the mainstream media. It shows Maidan "revolution" as a coup orchestrated by western governments and supported by many ordinary people tired of the government corruption. The role of ukrainian nazis in the coup is also portrayed.

I am not sure who this film is aimed at other than Russian ultranationalists to rationalize their imperialistic and warmongering behavior against the Ukrainian people who want democracy and freedom to join the Western world. Little disappointed to see Oliver Stone become a cipher for the Russian government and their worldwide disinformation campaign. The other documentary; Winter on Fire about the Maidan Revolution is much better.
