Chicago private eye Cat DeLuca, founder of the Pants on Fire Detective Agency, was briefly married to runaround Johnnie Rizzo. Her experiences gave her the mad skills she needed for her agency: she only investigates cheating husbands. So why, when someone kidnaps Captain Bob's dog and claims to have evidence of cop corruption, does Cat's Poppa not only deny the accusation, but order Cat to leave it alone? The answer may lie in an unsolved hit-and-run death that was relegated to a dusty cold case file.

Clever title, clever business name, clever pants, and why didn't we learn all about those crazy interrelated Italians in Chicago way before now? We have been missing out, big time!

This is a BIG discovery and I'm going on a Cat DeLuca reading jag this summer.

This was my first Cat Deluca Mystery, and I'm now a big fan. It was alot of fun. Quirky but believable characters; a tough woman in an Italian family who has a heart of gold. Surprises were good. Location near Chicago is a nice change of scene. Fun dialogue.
