My 8 year old finds it fascinating but it is a slow read for younger readers. I plan to buy the whole set for the family.

I just downloaded three of these "George" books for my nine year old son. He absolutely LOVES them. He listens to many, many of his books via audio since his dyslexia seems to hold him back in terms of the length and complexity of the books he really thirsts after. He finds these books completely engaging--the plot is "awesome" (according to him), and the concepts are ones he wants to understand and learn more about. This series seems to satisfy a niche that is completely missing in books for young people: real science presented in an engaging manner with the perfect mix of fiction and non-fiction.
