This is a good basic book but it isn't much fun to read! There are only grey scale pictures of cooking methods, pans and utensils. There are cute cartoons starting each chapter. The first 58 pages are about the care and purchasing of cast iron. I wouldn't get excited about cooking with cast iron if this were the first book that I read on the subject.
