I think this is a really great book showing us the end of the empire. felt a lot like star wars and never got overly complicated with so many characters and story's going on. Really shows the nitty gritty aspects of the universe and ties in the complicated world of politics without making it boring. The epilogue had an excellent tie into the force awakens that I thought was executed perfectly. Really great read all around

This book is so bad that I'm not even going to make myself finish it- a mistake I made with the previous two Star Wars Aftermath books by Chuck Wendig. I'm just going to return it ASAP so that someone on the waiting list can have their chance to read it.

Having read at least 50 of the EU books, I can say there were a few stinkers in there maybe about one in ten weren't very good. I am shocked though just how bad the new Star Wars books are after the Disney takeover and canon wipe. I've read all of them (about 11?) and probably 7 or 8 are just terrible. Chuck Wendig's books here have to go front and center though, as among the worst written books I've ever read, yet Aftermath is currently the flagship title for all Star Wars books!

I'll keep it spoiler free, but here are my chief complaints about all 3 Aftermath books: bad writing, a failure to capture the vibe and ambience of the Star Wars universe, a social justice warrior vibe & real life politics repeatedly thrown in the readers face. Yuck, I swear never to read anything by this author ever again.

Really good story. Kept me hooked the whole way through. Would definitely recommend this and Life Debt to other readers. Aftermath 1 is harder to read and get into, but is necessary for understanding the second two.
