Another typical romance novel - read 1/2 and moved on

Easy reading keeps you interested.

Romances are not my thing. My young daughter insisted that I get it and pestered me to read it. The good news is that I was able to plow through it in just a couple of days. ("Just hold your breath and eat it.") The book is dross. It reminds me of what I imagined glorious adulthood would be when I daydreamed as a girl, playing with Barbies and crushing on Tiger Beat pin-ups. But, the grammar wasn't bad, and it's not overtly racist, so I gave it two stars.

I absolutely adored this book! I even cried on the train (very embarrassing). I would love to just pack up and move to beautiful Connecticut. (I wish).

I read this for the Feb. t-shirt/book promotion on-line. The author kept my interest and surprised me as well.

A very good read - another great book from Jane Green :-)

Another great story by Jane Green! I always look forward to her books because they are among the best in women's fiction. In addition, they are all so different; totally different stories with different endings. One never knows what to expect from this author. Great read!!

This book is very disappointing. How is it that Emma went to the hospital in the back of an ambulance then drove home afterwards. As far as her parents coming from England - well I think they must have used a time machine.

What starts out and progresses as a nice love story takes an abrupt turn for the worse. Out of nowhere, the author changes the pace and I was left thinking....did someone else write the ending?

Move over Nicholas Sparks! Falling: a love story will have you laughing and crying and hoping for a happy ending.

A rental home by the beach in Westport Connecticut is exactly what 37 yr old. Brit Emma Montague is looking for now that she's left her high finance job in New York and is trying to figure out what's next.

Her landlord, Dominic DiFranco, is a local boy who rents out one of the homes he inherited from his Italian grandparents while he lives in the other one next door with his 6 yr old son, Jesse. Dom tends bar at night to be able to raise Jesse alone.

Everybody loves Dom and Emma finds herself drawn to him even as she's terrified of interacting with a child.

Though they have very different upbringings, they are determined to build a life together and give Jesse a stable, love-filled home.

Love and life never run smooth and theirs is no exception. How everyone handles what fates befall them makes this a story where laughter and tears blend well.
