An excellent debut novel by Sonja Stone. Although this novel is written for YA, I was intrigued by the continuous turn of events. Sixteen-year-old Nadia, the lead character in the novel, rose up from the timid girl at the covert CIA academy to a girl that can think on her feet. She survived the desert training and the survival courses. When someone at the academy is leaked to be a double, she is on the hit list. Ms. Stone did a great job weaving a story that kept the suspense going. Looking forward to July – release for Dark #2!

Mixed girl trains to be a spy. A good solid intrigue/spy/ thriller of a book. It's well crafted and even though I knew one bad guy, it was really difficult to tell who the other double agent was. I loved how the book was mentally challenging and yet not too hard to understand. It's able to showcase different skills and background information without getting overly boring. It was also very nice each character was distinct, interesting and individual. I hate books that bounce from each point of view and all you're waiting for is it to go back to the main character and get on with the story. Not with this one! Excellent pacing keeping the story moving but still having moments to breathe. In fact having things told from other perspectives helped you get closer to unlikeable ones *cough*Alan*cough*Jack*. I really enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to turn back to an expositional page to remember who was who. Instead we have 4 separate voices. Realist and plausible, I enjoyed this from start to finish and look forward to more expansion on the story. Lets just say they crossed the *wrong guy. Heheh heh. There is a crush Nadia has on one of the boys that's stupid. However considering the age group this targets, I don't think they'll mind as much as I did. Plus she's such a great character that she's got to have something as a con!

A good book for any young adult. I was kind of upset that there was a slight cliff hanger with one of the characters, otherwise it was a good book and I would recomment it if you like books about CIA and secret agents.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Suspenseful, well-written YA that is both clean AND enthralling. I hope the author has more of these coming.
