Nice little book. The story is good but the end wasn't clear and felt off.

A decent enough novella, with some lovely lines throughout, though the classification as anything but general fiction is a stretch.

Big print, and not many pages, makes this more of a short story than novella. Well written, I suppose, but I missed the conceit of the story. The characters are generally unlikeable, which is embarrassing since they're obviously modeled after the author and her family and friends.

Beautifully written. de Kretser excels at deft, swift characterization. I thought the set-up was really well done, but I didn't find the conclusion very satisfying. Still, a nice way to pass a couple hours.
