I very much enjoyed the overall story Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
It’s obviously about Harry Potter, but it’s also about how Harry’s life affected his son, Albus.
Albus is a first year Hogwarts student that meets Scorpius, son of Draco Malfoy. They both end up in Slytherin and become the best of friends. It’s basically a journey through the years of Hogwarts back when Harry was there (travelled through time I believe).
Anyway, what I most enjoyed about it is how much I could relate to the characters. Scorpius is more of the shy awkward type and I find myself to be almost exactly like him nearly everyday!
While it’s more like a fan fiction, there are still original aspects. For example, when Scorpius sees a world that is dark and gloomy, he has to try and figure out the meaning to that said world. This would have been if Voldemort won the battle at Hogwarts. Which they would celebrate that day known as ”Voldemort Day”.
It’s full of suspense in my opinion. I would recommend Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to those who enjoy more of a fan fiction aspect as well as loads of drama and humour!

I liked it and am gonna read it again, but the only thing wrong is it's a
FUDGING SCRIPT. Like, why can't you put it into a book form, personally if that was done, i know it would attract a lot more readers and potterheads like me. but overall some parts are bad but i still enjoyed it. I'm happy that the Main Trio adventures are not ending. overall, it was a little boring but i still recomened as long as you read with an open mind and ignore the whole script thing.

it was very interesting to read what happened to Harry and his friends twenty years later. Hermoine is the Minister of magic, Ron ran Weasley Wizard Wheezes instead of Fred and George. this book is also in a very interesting format which I enjoy very much.

The Cursed Child, is a fantastic book what I would recommend you read after you finish the other Harry Potter books. I enjoyed seeing the next generation of witches and wizards from the characters we have known and loved! I sort of wish that it wasn't written in a play format because it is harder to read that way, but it was still really good. I would give this book a 3.8 out of 5!

I don't really like the ending of this book. It is kind of weird that the ending was Harry Potter and his son standing in front of Cedric's grave.

I was excited to read this book, however, I was quickly disappointed that it was published in script form and almost didn't read it. I'm glad I did though. It brought me right back into Hogwarts and the wizarding world. There are a few things that could have been embellished on. Harry and his son, Albus, relationship; Voldemorts daughter; not speed through the first 3 years at Hogwarts. I understand it is a play so time is limited. I wish for the book that they would have taken the time to put in more detail. I would recommend any Potter fan to at least read it with an open mind and remember that it is a play script.

If this book didn't exist, I don't know what would happen. I need this so I can still hold on to the Core Trio and be apart of their lives. Harry Potter is such a big part of my life and I can't let go. Especially not after this book. My next goals are finding a video of this production and going to Harry Potter World!!

This book would be really good if it wasn't written as a bloody script!!
Its a great story that would be alot better if you could tell the persons emotions and thoughts!
Considering its a script it's really good though (I've seen some pretty bad scripts).

ACT ONE, SCENE ONE KING’S CROSS A busy and crowded station. Full of people trying to go somewhere. Amongst the hustle and bustle, two large cages rattle on top of two laden trolleys. They’re being pushed by two boys, JAMES POTTER and ALBUS POTTER, their mother, GINNY, follows after. A thirty-seven-year-old man, HARRY, has his daughter, LILY, on his shoulders.

HARRY: You know what? I’m done with being made responsible for your unhappiness. At least you’ve got a dad. Because I didn’t, okay? ALBUS: And you think that was unlucky? I don’t. HARRY: You wish me dead? ALBUS: No! I just wish you weren’t my dad. ...
===
HARRY: It went pretty badly wrong from there. I said some things, Ginny . . . GINNY: I heard. HARRY: And you’re still talking to me? GINNY: Because I know that when the time is right you’ll say sorry. That you didn’t mean it. That what you said concealed . . . other things. You can be honest with him, Harry . . . That’s all he needs. HARRY: I just wish he was more like James or Lily. GINNY: Yeah, maybe don’t be that honest. HARRY: No, I wouldn’t change a thing about him . . . but I can understand them, and . . . GINNY: Albus is different and isn’t that a good thing. And he can tell, you know, when you’re putting on your Harry Potter front. He wants to see the real you.

RON: Honestly, every time I sit down now I make an “ooof” noise. An “ooof.” And my feet — the trouble I’m having with my feet — I could write songs about the pain my feet give me — maybe your scar is like that. GINNY: You talk a lot of rubbish. RON: I consider it my speciality.

LUDO BAGMAN: And there they are. Ladies and gentlemen — boys and girls — I present to you — the reason why we’re all here — THE CHAMPIONS. Representing Durmstrang, what eyebrows, what a gait, what a boy, there’s nothing he won’t try on a broomstick, it’s Viktor Krazy Krum. From the Beauxbatons Academy — zut alors, it’s Fleur Delacour! And from Hogwarts not one but two students, he makes us all go weaky at the kneesy, he’s Cedric Delicious Diggory. And then the other—you know him as the Boy Who Lived, I know him as the boy who keeps surprising us all . . .

He needs me to do what? DELPHI: That’s the thing, isn’t it? About friendships. You don’t know what he needs. You only know he needs it.

SCORPIUS: Can you even slightly imagine what that’s like? Have you even ever tried? No. Because you can’t see beyond the end of your nose. Because you can’t see beyond the end of your stupid thing with your dad. He will always be Harry Potter, you know that, right? And you will always be his son.

… the Time-Turner begins to vibrate and then explodes into a storm of movement. And with it the stage starts to transform. The two boys look at it. And there is a giant whoosh of light. We have no idea where they are or when they are. Searching in time when you’ve no idea where in time to search, that’s a fool’s errand. No, love won’t do it and nor will a Time-Turner, I’m afraid. It’s up to our sons now — they’re the only ones who can save us.

DELPHI: The prophecy must be fulfilled. We will fulfill it. SCORPIUS: Prophecies can be broken. DELPHI: You’re mistaken, child, prophecies are the future. SCORPIUS: But if the prophecy is inevitable why are we here trying to influence it? Your actions contradict your thoughts — you’re dragging us through this maze because you believe this prophecy needs to be enabled — and by that logic prophecies can also be broken — prevented.

Of course I loved you . . . and I knew that it would happen all over again . . . that where I loved, I would cause irreparable damage. I am no fit person to love . . . I have never loved without causing harm. … I was blind. That is what love does. … there is never a perfect answer in this messy, emotional world. Perfection is beyond the reach of humankind, beyond the reach of magic. In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe. … Those that we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch. Paint . . . and memory . . . and love.
===
Love blinds. We have both tried to give our sons, not what they needed, but what we needed. We’ve been so busy trying to rewrite our own pasts, we’ve blighted their present.
