The legacy of the Black Dagger Brotherhood continues in a spin-off series from the #1 New York Times bestselling author... Paradise, blooded daughter of the king's First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood's training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself... be herself. It's a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it's very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O'Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life. And that's before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible,...

I really loved this book in the spin off series of the Black Dagger Brotherhood known as the Black Dagger Legacy. The books from BDB series are quite intense and detailed so it was really nice to read this book which was set in the same world but it was less intense. Blood Kiss focuses on the story of Paradise, who joins the BDB training program to find herself and be more independent and along the way she also finds her one true love, Craeg, who comes with a dark past of his own. Their love story was captivating and lovely to read. I loved the way this book was written, how the characters were introduced and I loved the inclusion of characters from the main BDB series itself, how we get to see more into their life after their book has been written (Butch and Marissa). I look forward to reading the next books in this series and learning more about the other trainees introduced in this book.

I liked this somewhat divergent series off the main Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It is interesting given a slight change in Ward's story-telling with a vampire murder, but I'm not sure where she plans to go with this series... A good filler book to read while you wait for The Thief.

Another 5 stars from Ward! It took me maybe 3 chapters to really get into it, but I think it was more because so much was going on in my life. I think if I was to start it all over again, it was would be a page turner from the start. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Ward is a winner with all her novels! Go Paradise and Craeg!! Happy Reading!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood series is completely over-the-top and completely addictive. The world is crazy, the naming conventions are crazy, the romances are crazy...and yet it's so good. This is the start of the next generation of fighters, and the focus is split between two couples as they prepare for the upcoming war with the bad dudes (who smell like baby powder! So crazy!). Listen, don't think too much about it. Just read it.

I have been a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and have read all of the books in this series. I loved this book as well. The relationship between Paradise and Craeg was one that was not to be expected, but those relationships turn out to be the best. This is a must read.
