SUMMARY: A group of forest friends prepare for the arrival of Santa. Bear believes Santa will come if they simply show him the way. Badger believes that nothing will bring Santa to them. After decorating, making snacks and ending with a bright star on their tree, will Santa come?

ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations are colorful and simple for the younger crowd. The characters are very high on the cuteness scale!

THE GOOD: These forest friends are adorable as they help Bear to achieve his dream of bringing Santa, even though they may not believe that Santa will come.
THE NOT AS GOOD: The writing of the story is very mundane. I found my self losing attention after about the fourth page turn. The characters are underdeveloped. I did not feel the excitement of Bear (based simply on exclamation points) nor did I feel Badger's glumness. For instance, when badger says, "'If we must!'" huffed Badger." This is a misuse of the exclamation point alongside the verb "huffed" to show Badger's negative feelings in that moment. This book had a cute premise that got lost in the writing.
