Presidential candidate and former host of The Apprentice Donald J. Trump reveals the business secrets that have made him America's foremost deal maker! "I like thinking big. I always have. To me it's very simple: If you're going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big."--Donald J. Trump Here is Trump in action--how he runs his business and how he runs his life--as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and changes the face of the New York City skyline. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated eleven guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest deals; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker's art. And throughout, Trump talks--really talks--about how he does it. Trump: The Art of the Deal is an unguarded look at the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur and an unprecedented education...

Not sure I should take advice from someone who is such a bad business man.

BTW... most of the negative comments on this book review are from people who have never actually READ the book... so keep that in mind. On the surface, this simplistic style of writing can be easily passed over. The true gold is in rereading it several times with wisdom, experience, and applying those principles to life and business settings. It takes a real intellectual desire and worldly maturity to fully understand and appreciate this book. Of course, if the reader does not have that... there is always... Saul David Alinsky.

This book gave me a greater understanding of our President.

1. He is patient
2. He understands politicians
3. He is a smart businessman
4. He is generous
5. He loves his family and America
6. He is street smart and brilliant
7. He sees the big picture
8. He is flexible

As others have commented about the 1 star ratings, many didn't read the entire book.

Donald Trump does not write his own books.

Read an article about the man who actually wrote this book:

Trump is a traitor and so are the idiots who still support him.

Trump didn't write this book. He doesn't know how to make a deal, like his failure to secure one with North Korea. He does know how to compromise himself, sexually assault women, collude with Russia and mobilize racists to vote for him.

I read the commments, clearly as would expect-along political lines: Those for the man were quick to judge the negative comments. Those against were quick to judge the man. My words, as unbiased as they may try to be will likely draw similar scorn but just sticking to the book itself. It is a rather poor read and does not really lend any insight into, what I imagined was the authors intent, deal making. I myself am interested in international business, wherein America’s past and future progress lies. This book does nothing there. I personally do not see anything rem arkable in the man and this book only confirms that. I certainly would have passed on purchasing the book within the first few pages. That said there are plenty of empty books like this no matter the political spectrum.

I'm one of those who will comment without finishing the book. I used to edit business and technology books professionally. I could not waste my time on something so poorly written and printed. It looked like a cheap take-away copy you'd get at a conference session. It had no insights to offer beyond a kind of obsessive persistence. I can't believe anyone established a reputation on such thin evidence of negotiating ability.
