Can a man with a demanding job really be a good father? All Out is a bracingly honest answer from Emmy Award-winning anchorman Kevin Newman and his grown son, Alex. Confessional and provocative, their memoir is also a touching meditation on ambition, absence and family that will resonate with every parent and child who've ever struggled to connect and understand eachother. LGBT themes are handled sensitively and consideratly.

Newman and his son share with us a rare glimpse into the imperfect narratives that shape the relationship between a parent and a child. A courageous and honest reflection on the ways we love and the loving we need and the work it takes to bridge the gap between the two.

This book was a really intriguing book to read! The perspectives offered by both Kevin and Alex can likely be related with any parent-child relationship looking for mutual acceptance of one's true self.

Well-written and such a pleasure to learn about some very determined and successful men.

Very moving book. Kevin Newman's life as a journalist is fascinating. The book really drove home how important communication is in any family.
