A mother and her teenage daughter are found brutally murdered in a remote farmhouse, one defiled by multiple stab wounds and the other left lying like Sleeping Beauty waiting for her Prince. Reluctantly, clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin is drawn into the investigation when a former student, calling himself the 'Mindhunter', trading on Joe's name, has jeopardised the police inquiry by leaking details to the media and stirring up public anger. With no shortage of suspects and tempers beginning to fray, Joe discover links between these murders to a series of brutal attacks where the men and women are choked unconscious and the letter 'A' is carved into their foreheads. As the case becomes ever more complex, nothing is quite what it seems and soon Joe's fate, and that of those closest to him, become intertwined with a merciless, unpredictable killer..

A good solid murder mystery with complex character development in the personal life of the protagonist. The daughter who is going in to study forensic psychology is too 'precious' for my taste. I don't feel the author strikes the right note in describing the father daughter relationship with the older daughter. As a reader i found his relationship with his ex-wife opaque and an unsatisfactory element in the novel.

Good suspense ,many twists and turns. Perhaps not as good as others of his I've read but having said that still a good read.

The eighth book in the Joseph O'Loughlin series. London psychiatrist Joseph O'Loughlin. I look for Michael Robotham's titles and am never disappointed. Recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby

First-time reader of Robotham. The suspense ratchets up throughout, with no wasted dialogue. Would definitely recommend this book.

Great read. Sad, but believable; ending--I did not see it coming.

If you're a fan of Joe O'Loughlin you will enjoy Close Your Eyes - but be prepared to cry your eyes out at the end. Another page turner from Robotham - please keep them coming!
