A good story with real-life insight into the lives of 'third-class citizens' living in Israel.

It shows us the reality of life for Palestinian families in this divided part of our world. Their life is not easy, but they adapt, and there is kindness in the hearts of the two sides. I really enjoyed this film, albeit it was a bit slow in some parts. Very recommended as it shows the conflict without resourcing to aggression - rather evasion and circumvention.........

I really enjoyed this well-made movie! It is a primarily, a human story about a Palestinian teen trying to survive in a very complicated, confusing word of Israel! I loved the brilliant humour in this film! The conflict between the two sides was just a background to the primary story of this Palestinian teen, who gets to study at the prestigious Israeli high-school! He also volunteers in taking care of the Israeli teen with the MS, and the warm friendship that develops between them. And, a romance with a beautiful young woman.. that becomes a challenge to continue, since she is an Israeli Jew.. The Ending was not as good, it left some questions unanswered.. How did his family respond to his life-altering decision, is a paramount one..
It could bear a Part 2 Continuation!
The acting was superb! I highly recommend this movie!

This is a good film with a surprising ending. It gives an honest picture of life in Israel for a Palestinian. However, the world can't be changed with deception.
I would highly recommend other movies by Strand Releasing.

There is a lot to like about this film as is touches on some divisive topics. It's not just the Palestinian/Jewish conflict but there's also a subplot involving quality of life issues for a friend of Eyad. Yonatan has Multiple Sclerosis and through the course of the movie, he becomes less and less functional. All of this makes for a fascinating film that I enjoyed and well crafted. This film is unique and captivating. It provides English subtitle

Critics passed on this film based on Sayed Kashua's memoir, but it's actually very engaging.
