Huh?????? Is it because I’m not Jewish and there is an unwritten knowledge required here, but I just didn’t get it. I’ve read many Kellerman books but this was weird—are we supposed to know what the golem is? And what’s with the beetle in the clay container? And the supernatural Mai? Like others, I read and re-read parts but still couldn’t connect the various plots.

I am a Kellerman fan, probably more Faye than Jonathan/Jesse.

This book was a challenge. I kept at it until the end however still am scratching my head saying "whaaaat?" Wonderment came up frequently...and I didn't want to go back and try to figure out what was really happening by re-reading. So I plowed through it...and "plowing" is the best description. I couldn't summarize the plot if you held a gun to my head.

Hard to get into. While I am a Kellerman fan, this book just not as engaging.

Thought I'd give the second Golem book a try but while the writing is good I just don't enjoy this series or the lead characters. Sorry, otherwise a Kellerman fan.

I like Johnathan Kellerman's Alex Deleware series and I've read all of them. His wife Kay's books are too Jewish for me, don't like them. The son takes after his mother, not his dad. I couldn't finish this book, took it back before the half.
