I, for one, am very impressed with the vintage art form known as "Art Deco". No matter what medium it is found, this unique style of artistic expression certainly excels where others do not.

Through stills and text - "50 Works of Art" gives the artistically-inquisitive reader an impressive overview of the "Art Deco" style in its purest form. The contents of this glossy volume clearly reveals the period's richness and range, from paintings and photography, to architecture, sculpture, and fashion.

Beautifully compiled by Lynn Orr - "50 Works of Art" also includes brief artists' biographies and an introductory essay on the history and legacy of the "Art Deco" movement, as well.

*Be sure to watch "Brief Introduction To Art Deco" video-clip (with its informative, but decidedly dry, narration).*

A wide array of images and objects are featured, some of them overlapping with adjacent styles: art nouveau, futurism, etc; I suppose its a matter of judgement. I was surprised how many of the artists lived exceptionally long lives.
