This was a funny, rowdy and bizarre western. The main character, Nat Love, was an actual African American cowboy but the rest of the book is pure fiction. Nat is a great narrator! Although it’s written in a humorous way it’s still an epic saga following his exploits, adventures, and his constant run-ins with his nemesis. Totally enjoyed this and would recommend to fans of the western genre.

Great storytelling from Nat Love’s first person narrative. Based on a true life Black cowboy. Love Lansdale’s dialogue and humor.
