Rest in peace to one of the greats of experimental and boundary-pushing writers in science fiction. This book contains many of his classics, from the stand against the tyranny of deadlines of "'Repent, Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman" to the unconventional prose of "The Region Between" to the disturbing body horror of "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream." A great collection to see both why he was so respected, but also so divisive.

Harlan Ellison passed away on June 27 2018. Considered one of the best (he would say the best) writer of speculative fiction of the 20th Century. Although a bit forgotten about for the past 30 years he was a legendary writer and this book contains his best works. The fiction is very blunt and at times hard to take with shocking language and violent imagery. There isn’t much joy or love here just anger and despair. Regardless of the intent the result is wonder at the high level of creativity it took to create a multitude of worlds and characters.
