Kim Miller is an immaculately put-together woman with a great career, a boyfriend, and a tidy apartment in Manhattan's Upper West Side. Behind the closed doors of her family's idyllic Long Island house hide teetering stacks of aging newspaper, broken computers, and boxes upon boxes of unused junk festering in every room and the product of her father's painful and unending struggle with hoarding. Kim brings her experience of growing and hiding her father's shameful secret from friends for years.

The meat of the book can describe darn near any person who has suffered a trauma in/throughout childhood. I found it well written, with descriptions of emotions expressed in minimal words but right on the money. Plan to purchase my own copy of this book and read it periodically. It is "that good"!
