This book had mixed reviews so I wasn't sure if I would actually finish it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good read.

A good read but not as great as Gone Girl. Too bad!

This book was okay but there were several things I found lacking. Among them were aspects of the plot that the author pursued and then turned out to be just a waste of time, characters that the the author could not make believable ("femme fatale"), and dialogue that simply did not ring true.

Meh. Lots of loose ends tied up in a very unsatisfying way, with a weak "Gone Girl" subtheme that's not really believable. And a truly horrific pun for the title (nothing at all to do with Cain and Abel; the main character is named Abe and some of the story has to do with sugarcane. Ha.ha.ha.)

Part John Grisham, part Gone Girl, unfortunately not as good as either. This legal thriller/mystery seems to have borrowed from other sources and come up with a fairly predictable outcome. Disappointing!

A real waste of time. Looks like the author is trying to make money for a very bad sequel.

Time for Grippando to take some time off.

A legal thriller that has it all.
Twist and turns, interesting
characters and a great ending.
An enjoyable read!

I've enjoyed this author's novels in the past, so was very disappointed in this one. It's so poorly written and so boring, it became one of those rare books that I just didn't bother to finish.
