In this story, Papa bear answers many questions for baby bear about angels. He says that...
They are often with us
They can sometimes be seen
Angels live to serve God, not man and spend most of their time worshiping God
Some angels carry flaming swords
Angels come sometimes in disguise
Angels sometimes protect us, but not always (Papa bear says he doesn't know why this is, but God loves us)
We should pray to God, not angels
We do not turn into angels when we die

The illustrations are soft and colorful and enjoyable for little ones to look at.

I agree with one reviewer who says this story covers the basic Christian Biblical view of angels, but some people may find they have been taught some slightly different information in their church (including the confusing fact that bears will go to heaven and see angels). I also agree with another reviewer who says Bible verse references should have been included in the book for parents to look up where each piece of information came from for their own education.

The story was cute and a simplistic view on what can be a complicated topic. I believe each parent can tailor the story to their beliefs as needed. One aspect I did not like was the use of improper language for the little bear to make her seem cuter. Words such as somethin' instead of something and "have you ever seen one for reals?" My children never talked that way. Using this type of language was distracting and sets a bad example for young learners.

I struggled between 3 and 4 stars for this story so have rounded up.
