International Night is brimming with recipes for fifty-two special meals--appetizers, a main course, side dishes, and dessert for each--one for every week of the year. Some are old favorites from Mark's repertoire, and others gleaned from research. Always, they are his own version, drawn from techniques he learned as a professional chef and from many years of talking to chefs, producers, and household cooks around the world. Despite these insights, every recipe is designed to be carried out--easily--by any amateur chef, and they are designed to be completed with the assistance of children.

Great stories of a father and daughter team who take on world cuisine, even if the ingredients are hard to find! Everything sounds good in the end. Kazakhstan Night was really interesting!

Definitely a book for foodie families. The author and his teenage daughter travel to a different country once a week via a spin of the globe and home cooking. The reader learns a little bit about the country and gets recipes for an evening meal. The children's cooking skills and access to exotic groceries must be above average to really enjoy this book.

Fun book, but very few of the recipes are even vaguely authentic.
