Thoroughly researched and well-written, the book relates how a justice system riddled with incompetence and malfeasance executed an innocent man. Particularly chilling is the way in which the prosecutors withheld critical evidence from the defense and lied to the jury. As a final twist, the system may have botched the execution, causing the condemned man to die in excruciating pain. A fascinating, but deeply disturbing, read.
