This book wasn't bad, but it was really odd. The author went so far out of the regular realm of fantasy fiction that the story just struck me as extremely weird. (I'm sorry if this was your favorite book; no offense intended.) The writing and plot line were fairly sound, but it could have been stronger if the worldbuilding had not been taken so far.

This book took the idea of Brigadoon to a more fun, deep, romantic level than the musical and I'm chomping at the bit to read the next one in the series. I loved Vee and Kenna's friendship and their unique points of view within the book. The connections between the girls and their princes had me guessing how the book would end up until the last chapters.

LOVED THIS BOOK!!! This is a romantic, action packed work of art! A real cliffhanger!

This is one of my favorite books! I couldn't put it down. It keeps you on edge the whole time you're reading it. I have read it countless times and it never gets old.
It does have romance in it, but that isn't what the whole book is about.
Both of the princes are totally swoon-worthy and tbh I'm defiantly in love with Jamie McCray. Jamie had me head over heels for him before I could even breathe. His defiantly #1 on my fictional boyfriend list (although Jest from "Heartless" by Marissa Meyer is a close #2).

This was a re-read for me in preparation for the final novel Forever Doon which I seriously cannot wait for. Huge shoutout to Sasha Alsberg who is the one who inspired me to read this novel on her youtube channel. She loved the book, and set high expectations for this book and I was not let down. The writing was very well done in this book. Every place that Vee and Kenna went was very well described.
But re-reading this book didn't make it any less exciting. Even though I knew what happened in the end, I was still shaking with anticipation and anxiety in my chair for at least the last seventy pages. It was serious torture for me because I was constantly picking up the book and putting it down 2 seconds later.
Now lets talk about princes. I have a long list of fictional boyfriends but princes do beat all. Jamie and Duncan are so swoon worthy and the land of Doon makes romance so much more magical. Also, Jamie may or may not be my new favorite fictional boyfriend. He is sooo enchanting

I definitely love the clash between old and new in Doon (ehehe the sushi ><). It Gives a great update to the Medieval times background. I couldn't believe the ending though. How could she.. I was like "NOOOOOO". But that's alright, it'll just make for a more interesting Sequel. Can't wait to read it~ ^^
