Superintendent Battle is called to investigate the murder of an elderly widow at a clifftop seaside house in Devon...

What is the connection between a failed suicide attempt, a wrongful accusation of theft against a schoolgirl, and the romantic life of a famous tennis player?

To the casual observer, apparently nothing. But when a houseparty gathers at Gull's Point, the seaside home of an elderly widow, earlier events come to a dramatic head.

It's all part of a carefully paid plan - for murder...

Good Christie mystery with a bit of complexity to the plot and the unassuming Inspector Battle always knows more than everyone thinks. Fun read.

An excellent example of the well-constructed plot that emphasizes the who-dun-it. There is an interesting psychological twist at the end. Doesn't have Marple or Poirot but I don't think you'll miss them. (There is a typical cheesy romance, sigh.)

Neither Poirot nor Marple is in this book, but it has the usual complex plot that Christie is known for.
