Characters each have something to learn (something to teach us) - even those who seem to be "perfect."
I enjoyed the book, though the story is stressful. The relationships between each of the characters are true to their roles in each others lives; that's the best way I can think to describe the complexities that are well thought out and contribute much to the story!
Now I'll read the "sequel," "Secrets She left Behind."

Have to admit not one of my faves. The story took a while to start and I found the characters to be very dull and lifeless.
