Fascinating documentary on Stephan Hawking's enormous achievements in understanding physical science and his physical deterioration from his youth at university to the present. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like to spend most of his life locked into a body which is dependent upon others for his most intimate needs while being one of the indisputable geniuses of physical science. Hawking's dedication to science, his endless curiosity , and his good humor in the face of his debilitating illness make this an inspiring and remarkable film to watch.

PBS has done it again very well done documentary series. This movie was interesting, informative, and worse seeing!! I recommend this movie for all to see. Well worth the price of admission to any theater.

The documentary was a little on the boring side, but Hawking's achievements, while being nearly completely disabled for the majority of his life, are inspiring. It sure would be cool if his speech software spoke in a human voice that would be comparable to what his own voice might sound like. That mechanical, computer-like tone is incredibly distracting. Watching this made me feel really grateful for my health, and made me feel incredibly foolish for having ever complained about my sore back.
