I was quite impressed by the story - it sounded interesting, but it was better than I was expecting. The art, though, was a letdown. Culbard captures facial expressions well enough, but human body proportions are all over the place. Heads are sometimes freakishly oversized, sometimes closer to normal. The story deserved better.

Interesting miniseries that offers up a good twist on vampires and zombies, something I usually don't care about. In setting the story in the Edwardian era of Great Britain, writer Dan Abnett gives us an alternate world where the Restless, hordes of zombies, prey on the living, and the elite have taken to using a cure- vampirism. The protagonist is a vampiric policeman investigating the murder of another vampire. The art is stylized, suiting the material quite well. Since it's a Vertigo comic, this is certainly not meant for kids.
